The Magnum 224 LTO Tape Library is ideally suited for busy SMBs/departments needing an easy out-of-the-box experience with LTO-2, LTO-3, and LTO-4 drives. The Magnum 224 easily scales on demand from a 1x24 autoloader to a 2x24 library with a choice of one or two half-high (HH) LTO-2 or LTO-3 drives, making it the industry's first true LTO entry-level SMB/departmental tape library. The Magnum 224 LTO Tape Library is designed with Capacity on Demand offering customers the opportunity to easily upgrade their existing capacity by adding a second HH LTO-2 or LTO-3 drive, or by upgrading to a FH LTO-3 or LTO-4 drive and doubling or tripling capacity. An LTO-2 24-slot Magnum 224 has 4.8 TB native capacity, an LTO-3 24-slot Magnum 224 has 9.6 TB native capacity, and the Magnum 224 with an LTO-4 drive offers 19.2 TB of native capacity.
The Magnum 224 is available in several configurations depending on choice of LTO drive: either a single HH LTO-2 or LTO-3 drive and empty bay for a second HH LTO-2 or LTO-3 drive, or a single FH LTO-3 or LTO-4 SCSI or native Fibre Channel (FC) drive. All configurations include an Import/Export port. Available accessories include customer installable HH LTO-2 or HH LTO-3 drives, or FH LTO-3 or FH LTO-4 SCSI or FC drives. Total native storage capacity ranges from 4.8 TB to 19.2 TB. Native data transfer rates range from 86.4 GBs per hour with a single HH LTO-2 drive to 172.8 GBs per hour with two HH LTO-2 drives,216 GBs per hour with a single HH LTO-3 drive to 432 GBs per hour with two HH LTO-3 drives, 288 GBs per hour with a single FH LTO-3 drive,and 432 GBs per hour with a single FH LTO-4 drive.
